The first contestant for Love Island 2024 appears to have been 'revealed', with reports suggesting that Welsh rugby player Ciaran Davies is set to join the show in Majorca.

While it's not yet confirmed if Davies, who plays for Tondu RFC, will be part of the initial cast or enter as a bombshell, a source told The Sun: "Ciaran caught the eye of Love Island bosses immediately. He's gorgeous with a fit athletic build that will send the girls in the villa wild, but he's also a sweet boy next door from Wales to boot.

"He's the kind of lad you could happily take home to your mum. He's been in talks with bosses for weeks and is set to jet out to the villa in Majorca in the coming week or so. Right now, it's unclear whether he is one of the OG line-up or a bombshell but he is a favourite with the casting team and is sure to make a big impression with viewers."

ITV has been approached for comment, report the Daily Star.

This news arrives alongside the announcement that the ITV2 spin-off Aftersun will return this summer, following its absence during the inaugural Love Island: All Stars season, which left fans disappointed. The previous season saw former contestants compete once more in the South African villa, culminating in Molly Smith and Tom Clare being named winners.

However, due to the filming location being on the other side of the world, presenter Maya Jama chose to stay near the set instead of flying back to host the UK-based spin-off. Aftersun has always been a hit with fans, as it gives Maya the opportunity to interrogate evicted islanders while celebrity pals join the panel to discuss the villa's happenings and interact with the contestants, reports the Daily Star.

Ciaran Davies is rumoured to be entering the Love Island villa

Therefore, fans will be overjoyed to learn that Aftersun will reportedly return for the upcoming new season. The eleventh season of Love Island is set to grace our screens next month.

A fresh batch of singletons will jet off to the Spanish island of Mallorca, where the series is filmed - making it easier for host Maya to commute between Spain and the UK to fulfil her filming responsibilities.

A source revealed to publication: "Viewers didn't love the change though and really missed Maya fronting the Sunday night spin-off, so bosses are definitely bringing it back for the regular series. Logistically, it makes sense to have it back too as Maya stayed in Cape Town for the whole of the All Stars run, whereas she will be flying back and forth between the Mallorca villa where the summer series films, and London where Aftersun records."
