Composition vs. track

[edit]

@Moebeus: For songs which have been split into one-to-one MusicBrainz matches, should this be used on the recording or on the composition, or both? Should it be used on the single as well? Jc86035 (talk) 08:45, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Jc86035 : In my opinion it should never be used on composition: a music video item should be linked to composition only through recording or performance of. As to whether it should be used on recording or single or both? I certainly lean towards recording over single, but I leave the door open to scenarios where it makes more sense to use it on the "single" item. EDIT: I think it's important to remember that from a technical/industry standpoint, a music video is in itself a standalone recording, with its own ISRC code. This is regardless of whether or not the actual audio in the video is different from the music on the single. Moebeus (talk) 11:23, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"official only"

[edit]

The description added now includes "official only". What exactly would that mean? Should we only have one? What would be samples for items not to be included? --- Jura 16:38, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

inverse

[edit]

I had found "based on" on some items for video films. However, it seems that others use "performance of". Maybe "has part" could be possible as well. --- Jura 16:38, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Let us just use performance of only. --Trade (talk) 09:46, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
