Why bother having this property if it doesn't work?

I have tried using this particular property to overhaul Statistics Canada Geographic code (P3012), but Wikidata appears to be completely ignoring my use of it, calling its whole purpose into question. Is it because no one has bothered to implement this property in Wikidata's back end, or is it because I am missing something to make it work? -- Denelson83 (talk) 06:29, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
