[edit]Since 1 July 2020, there have been repeated attempts by new editors to change the cause of death statement from asphyxiation, with suicide as manner of death—which is supported by a reference to The Times of India (updated 1 July 2020)—to murder.
Editors should beware of falling prey to conspiracy theories relating to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. NedFausa (talk) 16:15, 15 July 2020 (UTC) Update. The cause of death statement is now supported by three references, each reporting asphyxia as cause of death and suicide as manner of death.
- indiatimes.com: "Sushant Singh Rajput shocked the entire nation when he committed suicide on 14th June … the post-mortem report of Sushant confirmed that he died of asphyxia due to hanging."
- india.com: "Sushant died by suicide on June 14 … the final postmortem report established that the actor had died due to asphyxia, caused by hanging."
- South China Morning Post, the most recent reference, published 31 July 2020, confirms that the coroner's report states Rajput died of "asphyxia due to suicide by hanging."
While it is true that an investigation into the case is ongoing, as india.com explains, Mumbai Police are looking for clues that Rajput's death was not due to suicide.
