Danish

[edit]

I guess a better, more general translation to Danish is "drab". Any comments? --Madglad (talk) 13:32, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

True! Men "Mord" er bedre! Kind regards,  Rodejong  💬 ✉️  13:33, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Mord is an incorrect translation of homicide. Homicide is any killing of a human by another, mord (murder in English) is the deliberate killing of a human by another. The proper translation of homicide is drab, which can also be translated to English as killing. --Cgt (talk) 14:07, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have changed the Danish translation to reflect the majority opinion. --Cgt (talk) 14:34, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Superset

[edit]

Now homicide (Q149086) is killing (Q844482) (act of killing a living being). The stone fell on his head and killed a human. Is it homicide (Q149086)? The shark ate a man. Is it homicide (Q149086)? The virus of AIDS causes homicide (Q149086)? --Fractaler (talk) 16:04, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I repeat my statement from the other stupid nonsense you posted elsewhere: Who gives a flying fuck about your constant observationally challenged sophistry? This is absolute irrelevant. Sänger (talk) 16:26, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Sänger: Generally you are right, I understand your feeling :) But sometimes (and here) there can be some questions which are useful to answer. Just to be more exact in modelling. --Infovarius (talk) 11:17, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Cause of Death?

[edit]

I try to avoid anything resembling confidence or conviction with regard to the properties of death and destruction. But I was somewhat surprised to see homicide as "cause of death".

After noticing that it is referred to as a manner of death (Q2438541) both in its own description, as well as the description of manner of death (P1196), I was somewhat convinced that this must be a mistake and have therefore changed it. It is now among items such as accident (Q171558) and suicide (Q10737), which seem a far better match, conceptually, than pneumonia or dysentery. Hello, Matthias. Probably I am not as fluent in English as you are, but I don't understand your argumentation. Q149086 is one of the most used cause of death. How else to designate that a human was killed (deliberately or not) by human? Sorry, I understand. Yes, it is a manner of death, not a cause. --Infovarius (talk) 11:32, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
