Если человек с детства его знает, в семье говорят, он пишет на нём стихи, разве нельзя назвать его родным? --Infovarius (talk) 09:12, 4 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Можно, если есть авторитетные источники, которые говорят, что франзуский это его второй (первый?) родной язык. -- 09:27, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

Family name

[edit]

@Harmonia Amanda, Infovarius: Why has this item the given name: Pushkin (Q227035) (disambiguation page)? I don't see the need for the disambiguation page. Is the cyrillic name Pushkin (Q27966336) not sufficient? Also I don't see the need for Puschkin (Q28916511), which is a latin-script name. --Ortano (talk) 09:58, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Pushkin (Q27966336) right now isn't a clean item: it has several P1705. We need to separate it in several items. The disambiguation page won't be used when a clean family name is used. Puschkin (Q28916511) is a Latin-script name for people who have the Latin-script form of this name (yes, they are probably all descendant of a Russian immigrant, but legally their name is in Latin-script). Alexander Pushkin (Q7200) don't have a Latin-script name: his name is in Cyrillic and can be transliterated, which is not the same. --Harmonia Amanda (talk) 17:28, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Ortano:, my main wishes are following: 1) Александр Сергеевич Пушкин should have family name (P734) "Пушкин"; 2) Pushkin (Q227035) contains the main page in ru-wiki about this surname, so it needs to be linked with its main owner. 3) Transliterations of this surname may be different: for English Pushkin, for German Puschkin (Q28916511), for French Pouchkine... I don't know how to show it better. --Infovarius (talk) 14:05, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Harmonia Amanda, Infovarius: ok, so now we have Pushkin (Q27966336) which is only used as the given name of this item. I checked this using this query. So can we just adjust the labels (i.e. clean up) of Pushkin (Q27966336) and then remove the disambiguation page as family name? --Ortano (talk) 20:00, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Harmonia Amanda: I don't understand how do you decide which of Александр or Александр is right? I see only difference in latin-languages labels (Alexander vs Alexandr) but they are both correct transliterations for actual name "Александр". --Infovarius (talk) 03:07, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Infovarius: We decide based on native label (P1705). All correct transliteration should be added as aliases for each languages, which hasn't been done yet for Russian names (I've started working on Japanese family names, where it's starting to get better). --Harmonia Amanda (talk) 17:25, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Still don't understand. P1705 in both items were not cyrillic so not fully adequate. Why Alexandr and not Alexander? --Infovarius (talk) 19:40, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
