Importing coordinates from wikis

[edit]

Please be more careful when importing coordinates from wikis. It is not possible to import everything, such as importing coordinates to items describing awards, sports seasons, sports leagues, treaties, holidays, or items such as The Holocaust (Q2763) or same-sex marriage in Spain (Q17423). Please clean up these edits and limit further imports to appropriate classes of items. Wikidata is not a dumping ground. Thanks. Jklamo (talk) 22:41, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Isidre blanc @Jklamo I localised problem and now should be fixed on source wiki. Because I am not able to write query for getting list of problematic items, I must go via petscan and then make batch for quickstatemenst and it is not five-minute thing for me. Yes: it is never easy to correct this type of error. I understand it. Thank you Isidre blanc (talk) 20:49, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Isidre blanc@Jklamo Sorry, I found I am not able to mass-remove it via Quickstatements because distinct value must be removed. If you know about some way how to do it, please, let me know.
@Matěj Suchánek: WHat about some script for removing statements (Inverse claimit) removeclaim.py -file:file.txt <property> remove? with parameter -onlyif:P143=<value> (of this claim) would be super. JAn Dudík (talk) 08:27, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's possible using QuickStatements, you just need to generate the list of statement ids using WDQS. --Matěj Suchánek (talk) 16:45, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wikidata:Tools/OpenRefine can do that. It can be launched via PAWS. Jklamo (talk) 11:46, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Adding author on item about human

[edit]

Please don't add author to items about humans https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q67835&diff=prev&oldid=2005026722 @Kolja21: fyi, obviously misplaced wikisource used by bot ISNIplus (talk) 09:48, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@ISNIplus When is in item mixed person and wikisource article about person, bot running from wikisource will add wikisource staff. Is probably possible to check every item for not to be Q5, but this would very time-consuming. JAn Dudík (talk) 18:58, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Same for main subject, published in, language of work https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q56152910&diff=1776682597&oldid=1722695388 ISNIplus (talk) 10:46, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Adding described by etc to disambiguation page

[edit]

Please don't do that https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q100040019&action=history

@Kolja21: German disambiguation page ISNIplus (talk) 10:39, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Strange edits:
  1. Wikimedia disambiguation page (Q4167410) instead of Johann Georg Dreydorff (Q56152910)
  2. statement is subject of (P805) would be the item for s:de:Haan:Johann_Georg_Dreydorff not Johann Georg Dreydorff (Q56152910)

This must be fixed on source wiki too. JAn Dudík (talk) 19:05, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
