Peter Jensen was born born on May 03, 1860 in Denmark. Parents? He married Katrine Carlson on May 09, 1883. Together they had 10 children per the 1900 census. We have identified 9 of the 10 children so far but still looking for the 10th a birth record? He also had an occupation listed as a Wiper R.B. (Age 40; Per 1900 census) and a Butcher (per 1905 census) located on Slavic Avenue in Austin, Minnesota. We need collaboration in finding the missing census reports during his lifetime and understanding his occupations. What was a “Wiper”? Peter died on July 27, 1927 in Austin, Mower, Minnesota.

Note: His daughter was Leone Ingaborg Jensen (1896 - 1928)

Thank you

The 1890 Danish census might list his occupation but needs a Danish translation

We have danish ancestors and one of our members was a huge help in tracing and understanding the danish records.

Your welcome. Here is some interesting info about the Danish migration to the States in the 1800's.

Yea that’s the time frame and it seems Minnesota was the hot spot for the Danish

He is a bit more tricky, name is common.

He must be the Peter Christen Jensen born  3 May 1860 in Uvelse, Lynge-Frederiksborg, Frederiksborg, Danmark 1860 no. 2 Birth record Mother Inger Jensdatter and alleged father Lars Nielsen from Gandløse.

Marriage record states he is living in Lynge, Census 1890 that he is born in Slangerup parish. Uvelse parish is between Slangerup and Lynge. No Peder Christen born in Slangerup 1858-1862

Found him in Census 1880 in Lynge with mother Inger no. 71 and 72 Census 1880 Lynge

Census 1890 he is Arbejder (worker) but I can not read where

Btw. Peter Christen is his first name - he have no middle name

I updated the name to reflect no middle name. This is a good start to his genealogy research. Thank you

It would be nice to connect him to the main Wikitree smiley

In 1890 he is working in Brøndshøj Commune. Unfortunately, I can't read the word after Arbejdsmand.
