Dear all,
After working for 25 years on my (99% Dutch) family tree, I think the time has come to publish parts of it online, and I have chosen for wikitree as I aim for high quality. Also I have seen many wrongly attributed parents, or undocumented parents in online genealogies during that time, which are often repeated many times at different places, which makes it hard to comment on them. Having one single tree therefore appeal to me. I also like the idea of building something together and being part of a community.
As I have a lot of pre 1500 ancestors in my database, which are more interesting to research, of course also a driver is that I need to get my pre 1700 and then pre 1500 certification.
Lastly, some of my brick walls are ancestors that immigrated to the Netherlands from another country, so an international community might also help me there.
After spending a day adding some after 1700 ancestors, I have already a (beginners) question: Where do you put the sources pertaining to marriages? Do you have to add them to both partners separately? Or did I overlook a button?
