Canada research

I have been trying to shrink my Unconnected list. Instead it has increased. I actually, finally, hit a match and was very happy until I realized he was part of a little string of unconnected folks.

Curtis Stevenson (Stevenson-11951) and wife, Effie (Mitchell-43418) immigrated to Canada about 1910, they are in the 1916 census in Canada. Their son Lester got married in Montana years later.

I have not yet found them anywhere else.

Is there a kind sole with Canada credentials who will do a quick search.  I am not asking for a fully sourced bio, just a few more hints to run with.

Thank you

see research here https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/LT85-LG6

his name and age are hard to read on 1910 US census and are not transcribed in a way that is helpful but wife and daughter match up.

This looks like a great hint. Especially since he gets a different first name, but keeps the other as middle name. As you said, spouse is correct.

Thank you
it does look like Oliver if you look at the name but if you didn’t know his name was Oliver, would probably have transcribed the name the same way as they did.

and his age could be read as 37 not 57 as transcribed
and his father-in-law is living with him and wife in 1910 census
I wonder if he was called "O C", sort of looks like Ocie could be a nickname.  I inserted it that way to see if it attracted attention.

Did you notice the ages of his wives? Much younger than he was.

yes, that nickname makes sense.

did you see wife’s https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/158205493/effie-blanche-stevenson

I had not looked at it, but knew it was there.  Did you notice that the son seemed to use initials instead of a name?

I will work on her this evening, had to do my farm chores first.

Is this your line of Stevensons?  Its funny, I am following this line on my sonʻs mother in law, but also have a Stevenson line from my daughter in law.  My dil and sonʻs wife do not want their info on WikiTree (that explains most of my unconnected profiles), another group relates to great grandchildren I cannot connect because of parents objections.
no, not my line. (or least not anything close). we do not know anything past the Stevenson that came to Canada in 1817.
