Would you like to join the Connectors Project?

Question

The Connectors Project focuses on connecting loose branches and twigs to our Global Family Tree. 

Many of us are able to connect to the trunk of the Global Family Tree right when we join, as we have cousins who are already here. For others, it takes some time and effort; that's where Connectors come in!

Connectors work on open unconnected families and profiles and research to source and connect them so we're all one tree, rather than many separate ones. 

Due to privacy, our project focus is primarily on profiles of non-living people. 

There are many ways to get involved with our project including:

• The Connectors Challenge, a monthly race to see how many already existing unconnected profiles you can connect to the tree in 30 days. (You can participate in the challenge and not be a Connector, and vice versa.)
• The Lost and Found Project, which works to reconstruct GEDCOMs that were broken apart upon upload. 
• Working with Connecting Buddies who link Connectors together to best use their areas of expertise to make connections.

Being new to the WikiTree i am interested on being a help to further the project, i have yet to discover how to join the main tree but feel that if i do i can progress my own tree which is at a stop, thank you.

I would love to join, although I believe I am a member.  I thought this lasted only a weekend, not an entire month.  Although I am late can I still participate starting now?  

Can I just pick pot a deceased relative and start connecting brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles, etc.?

To sign up for the Connectors Monthly Challenge, head over to this G2G Post and click on the "Answer" link.  There are monthly challenge sign ups for every month there is not a Thon.

There are specific rules for the Monthly Challenge and they can be found here.  This challenge is very different than a Connect-A-Thon.... you have to pick a profile that existed prior to the monthly challenge that is currently unconnected.

I’m totally a Connector! It’s one of my favorite things to do in WikiTree, whether in my projects or for a challenge - I just connected Regis Philbin last night for the TV Notables challenge for Game Show Hosts.
