Adolphus Peter Elkin (called Peter) was born on 27 March 1891 in Maitland, New South Wales, Australia, the son of Ellen Wilhelmina Elkin and Reuben Elkin.[1][2]
He studied at the University of Sydney.[3] He was a professor of anthropology.[1]
He married Sara Thompson on 7 January 1922 at St Paul's Anglican Church in Burwood, Sydney, New South Wales.[1] They had two sons.[1]
Peter died on 9 July 1979 in Sydney.[1] His remains were interred at Goorangoola Anglican Church Cemetery in Singleton, New South Wales.[4]
