Catherine Brearcliffe MacLaurin was born on 14th October 1899 in Sydney, New South Wales (Australia). She was the only child of Doctor Charles MacLaurin and Anne Croal. [1]
Catherine married Alan Mackerras in 1924 in Woollahra, New South Wales. [2] Their son, Alan Charles, who would become a world-renouned musician and conductor, was born whilst they were living in New York, United States of America. Their other six children were born within Australia.
She passed away on 7th February 1977 at 770 New South Head Road, Rose Bay, New South Wales. [3]
