Biography
Alan Patrick Mackerras was born in 1899 in Sydney, New South Wales (Australia). He was the son of James Mackerras and Elizabeth Creagh. [1]
Alan married Catherine MacLaurin in 1924 in Woollahra, New South Wales. [2] They were the parents of the notable Australian Mackerras brothers.
Alan was an electrical engineer. He was assigned to a project in New York in 1925-1927.
He passed away in 1973 in Sydney. [3]
