Biography
I penetrated an egg and, as a result of my indiscretion, was evicted from the womb nine-months later, in Beaumont, Texas, November 29th of 1947. Without much say in the matter, I was christened Glenn Thaxton, given some clothes and a fishing pole.
Now, I am six-foot two inches tall, a little less in width, and moderate in looks, neither good-looking, nor ugly, just old.
I am Catholic by training, Buddhist in temperament, and silent in all matters religious. I am normal in almost every respect, except one. When I was young, my grandfather said I was part alligator, although, to this point I have found no evidence to support his declaration.
I worked in computing most of my adult life while harboring a background interest in genealogy. I expect my interest was spurred in part by my grandfather’s assertions.
Now that I am retired, I spend a little time each day documenting family history and writing noteworthy observations from the perspective of a retired Texas layabout.
Birth certificate lists father's occupation as Salesman for Pepsi-Cola Co and Address as 2075 N. Hopkin, Beaumont, TX. His father went on to become a Master Electrician and his mother was a computer operator until retirement.

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It is very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
