Heini Pirttijärvi has resigned from her position as CEO and chair of the board of embattled psychotherapy centre Vastaamo, according to a report from commercial broadcaster MTV.
Pirttijärvi had only been in the role for three months since taking up the position last November.
The private mental health services company has been at the centre of a hacking and blackmail scandal since October after reports emerged that highly sensitive information on thousands of patients had been stolen from its database.
According to MTV News, an annual general meeting is due to take place on Thursday, where the continuation of the company's operations will be discussed. Vastaamo's staff are expected to be informed of plans for the company's future on Friday.
The company’s board of directors had announced their resignation on 9 January.
Last week, Finland's social insurance institution Kela announced that it was terminating several contracts with the private psychotherapy centre.
The reason provided by Kela was not related to the hacking scandal, but that an inspection of Vastaamo by the state agency found some of the firm's therapists were not adequately qualified.
