The raid-like action on the 6th of this month was spearheaded by health and safety officials and involved local administrative authorities, customs officers, border guards and local and national police.
More than 2000 workers at the site, more than 90% of the labour force arriving for work, were interviewed by officials.
On the basis of information gathered, follow-up occupational health and safety inspections have been ordered for 10 to 15 of the companies operating as subcontractors on the project.
Officials say that they found relatively few irregularities, and only a single foreign worker who did not have a valid work permit.
Local administrative authorities are still processing information gathered from employees on the site concerning working hours and pay-related issues.
