The Taxpayers’ Association, which says it advocates for ‘reasonable taxation’, found that Finnish taxes on income are a little higher than the European average.

A worker earning 40,700 euros in Finland will end up paying around 2,000 euros more in tax per year than an employee on similar money in Sweden.

On the other hand, taxes on low-earners are below the European average, thanks to Finland’s progressive taxation system. The association compared the tax systems in 18 OECD countries, including Finland.
