Helsinki Pride is a low-key event once again this year, with no parade or large public events. Instead the programme centres on small live events and online offerings.
The theme of Helsinki Pride this year is Pride in Progress, emphasising that the promotion of human rights is still an ongoing process.
Helsinki Pride celebrates several anniversaries this year, which marks 50 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality, 40 years since the removal of homosexuality as a mental health classification and 30 years since the establishment of the Helsinki Pride community.

Helsinki Pride is Finland's largest human-rights event, with increasing numbers held in towns and cities all over Finland.
Pride Month is celebrated internationally throughout June, but various pride celebrations are held in Finland throughout the summer.
Prime minister and pop stars on Yle Teema and Areena
The highlight of Helsinki Pride Week is a concert broadcast live on Yle Teema and Areena from 3pm. You can watch the event by clicking on the video above.
The concert features domestic artists such as Tuure Boelius, Yeboyah, NikoLa & Pola Ivanka, Benjamin and Sanni.

In addition to music, the concert will feature interviews with Prime Minister Sanna Marin (SDP), who grew up in a 'rainbow family' and serves as the patron of this year's event, high jump athlete Jade Nyström and former Greens MP Jani Toivola, among others. The concert will be hosted by drag artist Cristal Snow and makeup artist Lola Lorenzo.
