As a Physician (Public Health), you will:
An internship program involves broadly based clinical practice in which physicians acquire experience in treating a variety of medical problems under supervision (e.g., internal medicine, surgery, general practice, obstetrics-gynecology, and pediatrics). Such programs are in hospitals or other institutions accredited for internship training by a recognized body of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
A residency program involves training in a specialized field of medicine in a hospital or an institution accredited for training in the specialty by a recognized body of the American Medical Association, (AMA) or Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
A fellowship program involves advanced training (beyond residency training) in a given medical specialty in either a clinical or research setting in a hospital or an institution accredited in the United States for such training.
For GS-15 -- 5 years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training.
A copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.

These positions may be eligible for special pay allowances (e.g., post differential, housing, relocation, market pay, etc.) The 0602 Physician and Dentist Pay (PDP) consists of the General Schedule (GS) base pay and Title 38 market pay (instead of the locality pay that is normally part of a GS employee's compensation). CDC appoints physicians and dentists under the Title 5 hiring authority of the United States Code (U.S.C.), but uses the provisions of Title 38 U.S.C. to provide discretionary pay when applicable. VHA Title 38, U.S.C. 7431, Physician, Dentist, and Podiatrist Annual Pay Ranges (va.gov)Locality pay will be adjusted to reflect location after selection.
