Automated Credit Transmission

Automatic CME credit reporting to support physician's state licensure and board certification

To simplify and streamline MOC and CME reporting, the AMA is collaborating with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to report physician participation in accredited CME activities to certain state and specialty medical boards.

If you are a licensed physician through one or more of the state medical boards mentioned below, CME credits for successfully completed AMA activities offered via the AMA Ed Hub, including CME from the JAMA Network, will be automatically transferred on your behalf to the following boards:

  • Alabama Board of Medical Examiners
  • Alaska State Medical Board
  • Medical Board of California and Osteopathic Medical Board of California
  • DC Health
  • Idaho State Board of Medicine
  • Maine: Board of Licensure in Medicine and Board of Osteopathic Licensure
  • Maryland Board of Physicians
  • Mississippi Board of Medical Licensure
  • New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners
  • North Carolina Medical Board
  • North Dakota Board of Medicine
  • Oregon Medical Board
  • Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners
  • Virgin Islands Board of Medical Examiners
  • Washington Medical Commission and Washington Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery
  • Wyoming Board of Medicine

Additionally, CME credits for successfully completed AMA activities will be automatically transmitted to the boards for the purpose of earning MOC credit/points if you are board certified through one or more of the specialty medical boards mentioned below:

  • American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
  • American Board of Pediatrics (ABP)
  • American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS)
  • American Board of Pathology (ABPath)
  • American Board of Surgery (ABS)

If you do not wish to have your CME information automatically transferred on your behalf, you can opt-out by updating your preferences.
