The United States is “deeply concerned” about the recent action taken by the transition government in Mali.
"In every corner of the globe, millions of children in conflict zones are in desperate need of food and clean water, education and medical care – all the essentials of life,” said Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield.
“Nearly a year since this crisis began, the situation in Sudan remains catastrophic, and it is only getting worse,” said Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield.
"Most recently, Chad has embraced the immense challenge of welcoming over half a million refugees – and over 100,000 returnees – in less than a year," said Assistant Secretary Noyes.
“The United States calls on the leaders of Rwanda and the DRC to make the decision to pursue peace – for the sake of their people, the region, and the world,” said Ambassador Wood.
"Since this incredible Water for the World Act became law, USAID has helped 42 million people access clean water, and 38 million people access sanitation services,” said USAID Administrator Power.
“More countries are putting up firewalls and shutting down access, using the internet to try to control speech, quash dissent, spread misinformation and disinformation," said Secretary Blinken.
“We have known about horrific atrocities, particularly against women and children, forced recruitment, even slavery in this conflict that must end," said Special Envoy Perriello.
“The more that we can help people break the cycle of use and dependence, the smaller the illicit market for drugs. The more we can reduce the illicit supply of harmful drugs, the fewer people will be exposed to them,” said Secretary Blinken.
“Basic freedoms have eroded. Electoral rights have come under assault. Corruption has eaten away at hope. Under the Summit banner, over the past three years, we have risen together to meet this challenge," said Secretary Blinken.
“If we can harness all of the extraordinary potential,” said Secretary Blinken, “all the extraordinary good in AI, while mitigating the downsides, we will advance progress for people in all of our countries and around the world.”
In 2023, USAID launched the Global Accelerator to End TB Plus initiative. One of the program’s ambitious goals is to reach and deliver prevention and care services to 90 percent of people with TB.
