Fox has revealed the stars of “Scream Queens,” its new comedy-horror anthology series: “Glee” star Lea Michele, Joe Manganiello (“True Blood,” “Magic Mike XXL”), Oscar nominee Abigail Breslin (“Little Miss Sunshine”) and Keke Palmer (“Akeela and the Bee,” “Masters of Sex”).
The series hails from Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan and Dante Di Loreto, the executive producers of “Glee” and “American Horror Story.”
Grammy Award nominee Ariana Grande will guest-star in a recurring role.
Fox made the cast announcements at the Television Critics Assn. press tour in Pasadena on Saturday.
Jamie Lee Curtis (“Halloween”) and Emma Roberts (“American Horror Story: Freak Show”) were previously announced in starring roles in the limited series.
The first installment in the new anthology series revolves around a college campus rocked by a series of murders. Fox has ordered 15 one-hour episodes of the series, which is scheduled to begin production in the spring and will premiere next fall.
“Scream Queens” is produced by 20th Century Fox Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television. The series is co-created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. Murphy, Falchuk, Brennan and Dante Di Loreto will serve as executive producers.
Fox also announced the stars for its upcoming musical “Grease: Live” (working title): Julianne Hough (“Dancing with the Stars”) will play Sandy, and Vanessa Hudgens (“High School Musical”) has been cast as Rizzo.
“Grease: Live,” which had been tentatively scheduled for summer 2015, will air live on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016 (7-10 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed).
“Grease: Live” will be exec produced by Marc Platt and is based on the original musical “Grease” by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey and Paramount Pictures’ 1978 feature adaptation. It will be a Paramount Television production.
“‘Grease’ is one of the most treasured and favored pop culture phenomenons of our time,” said Platt. “It’s fun, it’s endearing, and we are so excited to reimagine this iconic story with a shared entertainment event suited for today’s audience.”
“‘Grease’ is one of the movies that made me want to be an entertainer, and I have literally been waiting my whole life to play Sandy,” said Hough.
“Being Rizzo is something I’ve never imagined, and I love that because it will be a new challenge,” added Hudgens. “I cannot wait to bring her to life on live television. I’m going to be a Pink Lady!”

Can I be honest it sounds quite crap like some fake 80’s cult show gone wrong.
they did a lot of comedy horrors in the 70-80s and they stopped doing them coz they didn’t work very well and weren’t really funny. You get the occasional spoof horror film that works but its very rare.

Intrigued… Murphy is so hit or miss, so this could be brilliant or …that other thing. Michele is top-notch when she’s got decent material to work with and honestly she also elevated a lot of “lesser material” on Glee too, so her involvement could be great. It seems like something better suited to cable, given Fox’s history of not giving edgier shows enough support and creative autonomy. But definitely putting on my radar for fall.
