This article is a summary of the facts attesting to the liturgical veneration of Saint Simeon Verkhotursky. The circumstances of the creation of Akathist to righteous Simeon are clarified. It is established that Akathist had been mentioned for the first time in the widespread edition of the Life of Simeon Verkhotursky (“Miracles and Life of the Saint and Righteous Simeon, the Miracle Worker of Verkhoturye”), in the Miracle 51 (about the Surgut Cossack F. I. Kaydalov) dated from 1795. Research on the relics of righteous Simeon conducted by the Holy Synod order of 1763 does not record any presence of the akathist. The emergence of Akathist can be dated between 1763 and 1795. Most likely it was closer to the last date. Perhaps the formation of Akathist is somehow connected with the widespread edition of the Life of Simeon Verkhotursky. Formed in the second half of the 18th century this Akathist was copied and widely disseminated. Soon Right Reverend Neophytos (Sosnin), Archbishop of Perm and Verkhoturye, sent it to the Holy Synod for approval, and it was ordered to publish Akathist with amendments. Editing of the akathist was carried out by archimandrite Gabriel (Lyubomudrov), rector of the Verkhotursky St. Nicholas monastery. In this work, the text of Akathist is given in its original form, without archimandrite Gabriel’s edit, and the introductory article provides an analysis of the corrections made. Another akathist found in the archive file of 1825–1826 (Russian State Historical Archive. Stock 796. L. 107. Dos. 812) was compiled by Ioann Antonovich Popov, archpriest of the Shadrinsk Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral. The article presents a reconstrusted biography of the author of Akathist; Appendix contains this Akathist, preserved in a single copy, as well as troparia to the saint compiled by the same author

P.I. SHIROKORADOV’S LETTER ABOUT HIEROMONCH PAMVA’S RETURN TO DIVNOGORYE CAVE MONASTERY: ON THE RUSSIAN PROVINCE CHARACTERISTICS IN THE 1860s POST-REFORM PERIOD. For the first time the document “The letter of former house serf Shirokoradov about hieromonch Pamva’sreturn to the Divnogorye Cave Monastery of the Dormition” stored in the Russian State Historical Archive is published and analysed. The document provides a historical perspective of the Russian provincial life during the latter half of the X IX century. When analyzing the document, it is clearly seen that two flows in the Russian Orthodox Church are contradistinguished: of inner and outer piety. Hieromonch of Divnogorye Monastery Pamva was a bearer of ascetical tradition established in the monastery by rector Merkuriy (Korotkov). Publishing of the document bringsback the forgotten name of Pavma, who used to have authority with the local people, to the monastery history.

Review provides an analysis of the rare books catalog of the library of the Omsk Theological Seminary. The principles of characterization used by the Catalog’s compiler as well as the description of periodicals, manuscripts, books of Cyrillic and civil print have been considered in this review.

The article provides an attempt to reconstruct Novalis’ poetological system on the basis of his “Fragments”. In order to reach this aim two operations have been performed. Firstly, the fragments are classified in groups according to the main themes of poetics, such as the poetry itself, the poet, the poetic work, the system of works (the theory of genres), the reader. Secondly, the content of these groups is compared with traditional poetological topoi. The analysis of Novalis’ fragments shows that he does not reject these topoi, but rather modifies them by means of certain procedures. These procedures include, for example, interiorization (the unity of the work becomes internal, the “unity of the soul”), the inversion in time (whereas in the europian poetological tradition poetry was interpreted as the “mother of all sciences”, for Novalis, on the contrary, all sciences will turn into poetry in the future).
