Acast partners with Focusrite to help make podcasting more accessible

2022.06.01

Acast, the world’s largest independent podcast company, has partnered with internationally renowned audio interface manufacturer Focusrite to help bring new voices to podcasting for the first time. People who buy one of Focusrite’s new Vocaster interfaces — launched today — will get six months’ free access to Acast’s Influencer hosting plan, helping give them everything they need to start, manage and grow their podcast.

Vocaster is designed to be a next-step purchase for creators early in their podcasting journey, and focuses on addressing some of podcasters’ main pain points: sound quality and ease of use. Vocaster’s powerful, high-quality preamps and range of intelligent features make it easier than ever for aspiring podcasters to have an authentic studio experience wherever they are — with Focusrite’s legendary sound quality to match.

And the Vocaster launch is just the start of Acast and Focusrite’s partnership. The companies will be working together to keep creators at the heart of future product development.

Elana Gurevich, Product Marketing Manager at Acast, said: “Focusrite is the best in the business when it comes to audio tech, and our partnership gives creators the best possible start to their podcasting journey. We believe every podcaster, from any background, should be able to find their audience and make money from their craft, on their own terms — so we’re providing the tools and resources to help them do exactly that.”

Nicholas Howlett, Head of Brand and Marketing for Focusrite, said: “Focusrite puts creators’ needs at the forefront of every decision we make – an ethos we share with Acast. By bringing our two brands together, we’re learning how to better serve our customers and ultimately see more creators empowered to share their stories. This partnership will see more podcasters — and more podcasts — emerging with better quality audio than ever before.”

The Interfaces: Vocaster One & Vocaster Two

Vocaster One is a no-fuss interface, ideal for the solo podcaster, that gives you high-quality sound with confidence and ease. Set levels, enhance your sound with one click, and access award-winning support to get you recording right away.

Vocaster Two is ideal for more dynamic shows that feature two hosts, guests, and/or audio segments. This interface features two mic inputs and two headphone outputs for recording and listening back. You can also bring in guests over the phone with the convenience of Bluetooth or a single cable (TRRS to TRRS cable not included).

For Vloggers, you’re just one cable away from adding Vocaster’s studio sound to your vlog. Both Vocaster interfaces feature a camera output, allowing you to record high quality audio directly to your camera, removing the need to sync audio and video up later.

The Vocaster range features:

  • Focusrite Sound Quality: Plug in your choice of mic and bring studio quality sound to your podcast, with more than enough gain to drive all the popular broadcast mics — no Cloudlifter required.
  • Auto Gain: Press a button and start talking, Vocaster will set the ideal gain level for your voice.
  • Enhance: Immediately add one of three presets — developed in collaboration with

leading podcasters — with the push of a button and reveal the true quality of your voice with one-click compression and EQ.

  • High quality headphone outs: one per mic, everyone can hear the show in studio quality.
  • Phone Connectivity: Connect your phone with a TRRS cable — or Bluetooth® on Vocaster Two — and bring guests into the conversation.
  • Camera Connectivity: Connect Vocaster to your camera with a single TRS cable and add studio quality sound to your vlog.
  • Sustainable tech: With Vocaster, Focusrite has taken big steps forward in reducing the impact its interfaces have on the planet. With carefully chosen components, more sustainable packaging, and 58% of plastics from recycled sources, Vocaster is better for everyone.
