The latest version of the BBC Sports app (i.e. version 1.4.2.101) performs perfectly on my Kindle Fire HD.

The menus make navigation absolutely intuitive and every sport that I, personally, wish to keep track of (including some of the more obscure ones) is readily accessible.

In addition, the customisable links make it even speedier to navigate once set up to meet personal preferences.

Live sports results are updated with reasonable frequency (although understandably there are some alternative apps from other providers, which are devoted solely to delivering live sports results, which can outperform this app in terms of speed). However the real strength in this app lies in its capacity to provide regularly updated and detailed sports coverage across a wide spectrum of activity.

The fact that BBC Radio 5 Live and Radio 5 Live Sports Extra can be accessed while browsing and that live and catch-up recordings of sports events are accessible from within the app add to its overall flexibility.

I have found this to be excellent all-round sporting app, which has already become one of those apps that I use every day.

Consequently I would not hesitate to recommend the BBC Sports app to those who wish to maintain an up-to-date view of everything that is happening in the world of sport.

This is a good app for sports news. I also use the SKY Sports News app as that has better coverage of Formula 1. That said, the BBC gives better coverage of sports such as snooker and tennis. In reality, both apps are more than adequate.

NOTE. The BBC Media Player also needs to be installed for this app to support media playback.
