With Apple Trade In, it’s easy to trade in your eligible device for credit or have it recycled for free.
Answer a few questions to get your estimated trade-in value. Choose monthly payments and we’ll apply the value as an instant credit. Pay in full and we’ll credit your payment method after we receive and evaluate your trade-in.
You’ll keep your trade-in device until you receive your new Apple Watch. We’ll email instructions and free shipping details so you can drop off your trade-in at a participating location. We’ll also send a trade-in kit with a box for packing up your device.
Once we receive your device, a team will inspect and verify its condition. If everything checks out, your trade-in is complete. If your device doesn’t match the condition you described, you’ll receive an email with next steps.
If you paid in full and we confirm that the value of your trade-in was more than the cost of your new Apple Watch, you'll receive an Apple Gift Card by email with the remaining amount.
If your device doesn’t qualify for trade-in value, we’ll recycle it for free. Once you complete your purchase, you’ll get an email with a prepaid shipping label and instructions on how to box up your old device and locate your nearest drop-off location.

You must be at least the age of majority to be eligible to trade in for credit or for an Apple Gift Card. Trade‑in value may be applied toward qualifying new device purchase, or added to an Apple Gift Card. Actual value awarded is based on receipt of a qualifying device matching the description provided when estimate was made. Sales tax may be assessed on full value of a new device purchase. In‑store trade‑in requires presentation of a valid photo ID (local law may require saving this information). Offer may not be available in all stores, and may vary between in-store and online trade‑in. Some stores may have additional requirements. Apple or its trade‑in partners reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or limit quantity of any trade‑in transaction for any reason.
