Army announces upcoming unit deployments in support of European allies and partners

WASHINGTON — The Department of the Army announced today the fall deployment of two units to support European and NATO allies and partners. The deployments are one-for-one unit replacements and will not change the overall U.S. force posture in the region.

The 82nd Airborne Division Headquarters, from Fort Liberty, North Carolina, will deploy approximately 200 Soldiers to replace the 10th Mountain Division Headquarters. The 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, from Fort Campbell, Kentucky, will deploy approximately 3,400 Soldiers to replace the 1st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.
