The Cumbrian boy with Tourette's tackling the Wainwrights

A nine-year-old boy with Tourette's syndrome is aiming to conquer all 214 Wainwrights in the Lake District - helping his tics along the way.

Leo, from Allonby, has completed 87 of Alfred Wainwright's peaks, with 27 of those conquered since the start of January. Now, he wants to complete all 214 by the end of the year.

He was diagnosed with Tourette's two years ago and his dad Michael Mason says they found fresh air and exercise have dramatically reduced his involuntary tics.

As he climbed to the top of Sale Fell, near Bassenthwaite, Leo said hiking "helps a lot" and he "doesn't really feel the tics anymore".
