The former landfill site that's helping boost the bee population

Aughnagun was once a landfill site until it closed seven years ago.

Now the site, near Mayobridge in County Down, is home to thousands of native bees thanks to a group of local beekeepers.

They hope the introduction of three beehives will stimulate the local bee population and help transform the site into a greener space.

There are currently three beehives at Aughnagun and more are being prepared.
