How can I stop you using my information?

Updated: 23 April 2021

This is called the right to object. This is your right to tell us to stop using your personal information.

If you have a BBC account

You can turn off personalisation, unsubscribe from marketing emails or delete your BBC account

What about other information?

For one, you can update your cookie settings.

But for other types of requests, contact us and we'll consider the reasons why you want us to stop.

Bear in mind, when we get back to you, we might need some identification to check that you are who you say you are.

And in some instances we may need to keep it if we have a valid reason. For example, if you're in a news article we publish.
