Will my BBC account password be stored on my mobile device?

Updated: 24 April 2016

No. But to make it easier to enjoy all your BBC content on the go, we don’t want to ask you for your password every time you use a BBC app on your mobile device.

That’s why once you’ve successfully signed in to one BBC app on your phone or tablet, we allow our other apps to know this. So once we’ve verified your password on the device we won’t ask you for it every time you sign in.

We don’t actually store your password anywhere on your device, only the fact that you have given us the right one. And don’t worry – we only share this information between apps from the BBC.

Want to sign out of all BBC apps?

If you want us to forget you were signed in to a device, just sign out from any BBC app and choose "Sign out of all BBC apps on this device". This will sign you out of all BBC apps on your device and you will have to enter your BBC account password again to sign back in.
