A woman was sexually assaulted at a nature reserve in South Gloucestershire. Police are carrying out additional patrols at Three Brooks Nature Reserve after this incident.

The sexual assault happened last Thursday (August 4) at around 8.30pm while the woman was walking around the nature reserve. She then attended the police station yesterday (Monday, August 8) to report the assault.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: "We’re investigating an incident in which a woman was sexually assaulted in Bradley Stoke.

"A woman attended a police station enquiry office on Monday afternoon (August 8), to report that she’d been assaulted while walking in the Three Brooks Nature Reserve at around 8.30pm on Thursday (August 4).

"Neighbourhood officers will be carrying out additional reassurance patrols as a result of this incident. If you have concerns or worries, please stop an officer and speak to them.

"If you have information which could help, please call us on 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5222189662."
