Hello and welcome to today's live match blog as the Robins head to Burton to take on Coventry.
A farcical pitch situation at the CBS Stadium means the contest originally scheduled to be played at Sky Blues' home ground has been shifted north after the League One side agreed to host the match.
Nigel Pearson was far from happy with the way the proceedings unfolded but he won't be looking for any excuses if his side fails to pick up a result in the Carabao Cup this evening.
City head into the game on the back of two defeats in the league and a victory this evening could be the catalyst to get their league campaign up and going.
Pearson is expected to make a handful of changes to his side which could see a number of fringe players come in to impress if handed the opportunity. Matty James is injured and Joe Williams will be rested while Timm Klose and Cam Pring could come in.
There could also be the chance for the likes of Ryley Towler and Nahki Wells to make a statement and we'll bring you all the match updates and reaction throughout the evening.

Key Events
Full-time!
That's that! What a night for City and into the second round of the cup. Reaction to come.
How it happened
Three in three for Weimann as he breaks down the right and beats the keeper at his near post to continue riding the goalscoring wave!
Coventry putting on some pressure
They're getting crosses into the box but City are dealing with them at the moment. Bentley forced to punch one from under his crossbar.
Wells has just come off for Sam Bell.
Changes for City
Andy King and Conway have come off with Scott and Sykes coming on for City.
Drinks break and subs
City are making a change - Tanner is coming on and Wilson is off. Scott was ready but he's sat back down for now.
Coventry have come to life
These are dangerous moments for City here. Coventry are on top as they win a corner out on the left. Euell and Fleming are locked in talks on the dugout.
Goal Coventry 1-3 Bristol City (Allen)
Well there goes the clean sheet.
Coventry work it down the left well and pull it back to Allen who's unmarked on the edge of the area. It's a brilliant finish in fairness - firing past Bentley.
Three subs for Coventry
Waghorn, Bidwell and Burroughs have come on for the hosts as they look for something... anything to try and change this game
Chance!
Wilson's delivery from the corner finds Wells at the front post but he flicks it into the side netting. It wasn't the best delivery in the world.
Momentum over
It's turned very scrappy but City are still very comfortable without either side creating much. Massengo has been excellent in the midfield and wins a corner down the left...
Coventry enjoying the ball
They've come out with a bit more vigour in this second half which isn't entirely surprising. I imagine Mark Robins gave them a real rollicking.
City just need to keep their concentration and wait for this early pressure to die down.
Back underway
Here we go again... no changes for either side which is a surprise from a Coventry perspective.

Chance for Coventry - half-time
They've come to life a little bit here and Tavares is looking like their liveliest player. He gets into the box, cuts in on his right and forces Bentley into a save down low.
That's the half-time whistle! Pearson was getting a little frustrated with his side towards the end of that first half as they took their foot off the gas but what a brilliant first 30 minutes.
Four minutes added on
Must have been all that time celebrating the goals! City just slowing down the pace now waiting for the whistle.
Prior to that, the hosts came close to almost pulling one back when a cross flashed across goal and Tavares just couldn't get on the end of it.
Offside goal
Almost four! It's a scramble across goal and I think Wells manages to bundle it in! Although I couldn't see it properly from here but the offside flag goes up.
Some Coventry fan revels in it - sticking two middle fingers up at the City fans in the corner. That made me laugh. Has he seen the score?
Palmer
He's having a bit of a stinker so far as his pass through the defence is picked up by Pring. The hosts have barely threatened in this match and now the sun is out of Bentley's eyes.
There's a lot of frustrated Coventry fans around me!
A booking for Coventry
Tyler Walker goes into the book for a tackle on King. Frustrations growing?
How it happened
Coventry are all over the shop! Wells wins the ball off his man in a dangerous area and feeds in Conway.
The youngster's bearing down on goal and eventually gets his shot away. It takes a deflection and trickles into the corner!
City have been brilliant, Coventry have been woeful and the scoreline reflects it.
Goal Coventry 0-3 Bristol City (Conway)
Amazing stuff. It's three!! And Conway has his second of the game.
Conway's goal
Delighted to see him on the scoresheet - it was a lovely touch to take it past the defender and the keeper was in no man's land to leave him with the simplest of finishes.
Up the other end, Palmer has the chance to cross from a dead ball situation and it goes well over the crossbar.
"Get him off!" cries one of the Coventry fans!
How it happened
Coventry lose possession and Massengo picks it up. He plays it through to Conway who fires it past Ben Wilson in the Coventry goal.
What a start. City are bang up for this.
Now...
Can City hang on to this lead?! Coventry have been poor in possession and their fans are starting to get a little irate here.
Weimann dropping deeper is cutting out the space in midfield.
How it happened
Weimann's position
Just watching him so far, he's playing as the extra man in midfield, deeper than his usual No10 role. It's allowing Wilson to get forward on the right. He's got plenty of space at times but he's yet to get properly involved.
