In Parliament on Tuesday (Aug 2), Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen responded to clarifications sought on the Singapore Armed Forces and Other Matters Bill. The Bill was passed. There was then a second reading of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore (Amendment No. 2) Bill, which provides for the President to exercise discretionary powers in the appointment of the new Chief of the Digital and Intelligence Service.
