West Ham United plot Ivan Toney raid after major development – Sources
West Ham United are keen to sign Brentford star Ivan Toney this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Hammers want to bring in a new striker for next season and believe that they can make a statement signing with Toney – similar to Kalvin Phillips’ loan move from Man City in January.
Arsenal had eyed a move for Toney, 28, in the off-season but sources have told Football Insider (16 March) that they are set to scrap their long-term interest.
It is believed that Chelsea could also make a move for the England international, but their continuing financial strife and need to sell players to avoid a sanction makes this unlikely.

Now, sources have told Football Insider that David Moyes’ side believe there is an opportunity for them to snap up the prolific goalscorer.
They could face competition from their London rivals, with Football Insider also revealing (22 March) that Tottenham are still eager to sign Toney this summer.
With Danny Ings’ future at the club uncertain, Michail Antonio’s consistent injury issues and Divin Mubama’s lack of game time, West Ham are highly likely to recruit a centre-forward.
Toney has been one of the Premier League’s most lethal strikers since Brentford’s promotion in 2021 having scored 36 goals in 78 games.
This season, he has bagged four goals in 10 games after this ban for gambling offences ended in January, while last season he notched 21 in 35 in all competitions for the Bees.
West Ham sit seventh in the Premier League table after their 1-1 draw against Aston Villa last week (17 March).
They are next set to face Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Saturday 30 March after the international break.
