MDPI Initiatives

In everything that we do, our mission is to foster open science and scientific exchange. Over the years, MDPI has developed a set of initiatives designed to help scientists achieve their own objectives. On this page, you will find information on these initiatives and how each supports our core activity, journal publishing.

Sciforum

Sciforum is an event-planning platform that allows scholars not only to participate in academic conferences but to organize their own events also. Sciforum reduces the administrative efforts of organizers by allowing them to easily set up and manage their conference website, as well as handle the peer-review process, conference registration and billing, etc. Moreover, organizers can select from a range of paid services what aspects of the organization process they would like to delegate to our Sciforum staff.

MDPI Books

MDPI Books offers academic authors the possibility to publish their work in various book forms. Whether it is a short-form or full-length monograph, a chapter in an edited volume or a full textbook, we are dedicated to providing you with personal and individual support. MDPI Books also provides reprint services, such as Special Issue Reprints or Selections of articles of your choice.

Preprints

Preprints is a platform dedicated to making early versions of research outputs permanently available and citable. We post original research articles and comprehensive reviews, and papers can be updated by authors at any time. Content on Preprints is not peer-reviewed and can receive feedback from readers.

Scilit

Scilit is a database of scientific literature, that contains more than 128 million entries (mainly journal papers, conference proceedings papers and book chapters), it is also a central infrastructure component that delivers bibliographic metadata and related services. Scilit is powered and maintained by the open access publisher MDPI. The latest publications will be indexed in Scilit within one week. Scilit aims to be a comprehensive, multi-sourced database of scholarly literature and related works.

SciProfiles

SciProfiles is an innovative social network for researchers and scholars. It is built to improve global scholarly communication, allowing scholars to record their research, as well as share and discuss their publications and ideas, publicly or privately.

Encyclopedia

As a user-generated content platform for researchers, Encyclopedia aims to supply a clear scholarly reference on scientific topics and concepts, as well as provide benchmark information for researchers in every field. Our mission is to record and spread knowledge without any restrictions, to help researchers find what they need quickly and accurately, and our scope contains all aspects of natural sciences and social sciences. Based on the development of the Encyclopedia platform, we also set up a peer-reviewed namesake journal and a series of Encyclopedia books.

JAMS

The JAMS publishing platform is a complete publishing solution for open access journals. Efficient, easy-to-use tools are at the heart of successful scholarly publishing, especially in the open access format. We offer support throughout all steps of the publishing process, including the submission system, the journal website, and our production services (format editing, English language editing, and full-text XML conversion). We provide tailored solutions to support your publishing operations at any size, whether for single scholar-led journals, society journals, university presses, or larger publishers.

Proceedings Series

Proceedings Series is a series of open access conference journals in all research fields, including biology, chemistry, engineering, environmental sciences, medical sciences, physical sciences, etc. These journals provide a high-quality service and are dedicated to making the output of conferences widely available.
