A dog who bit a police officer had to be tasered by her colleagues as its owner was arrested.

Witnesses say Met Police officers had been chasing a someone near Wembley Stadium in London this afternoon when his "out of control" dog bit a female officer on her leg. In response the dog was tasered by cops and video showed the aftermath of the incident as the animal ran away, while members of the public shouted at the officer involved.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to Engineers Way, Wembley following reports of a male with a dog who was in breach of an injunction preventing him from entering the location.

"Officers attended and the male was detained. Whilst detained the male’s dog bit an officer and became aggressive towards other officers and a Taser was discharged. The injured officer was taken to hospital. She has been discharged after treatment.

“A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault, breach of injunction and having a dangerous dog out of control. He was taken into custody, where he remains."

In the footage a man can be seen being detained by police officers as the dogs whined nearby. Witness Rahman Zindere told the Standard: "Police were chasing an individual who had his dog with him.

“The dog was a bit out of control and bit the officer on the leg, she then Tasered him. It was lunch time so a lot of people were around at that time.”
