Boris Johnson named honorary ‘Citizen of Kyiv’ as he calls for more tanks to support Ukraine
BORIS Johnson has been named an honorary “Citizen of Kyiv” after fighting for Ukraine - as he called for the UK to cough up more tanks.
The ex-PM was given the gong by the city's Mayor, Vitali Klitschko, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, hailing it as a "huge honour".
He added: "There is no doubt in mind at all that Putin has made a catastrophic mistake.
"The only thing that we friends of Ukraine have got to do id continue our support for Ukraine, with tanks, with planes, with whatever it takes until Ukraine wins."
It came as he compared the Russian president Vladimir Putin to "the fat boy in Dickens" who wants to "make our flesh creep" with hollow threats.
But he stressed the rogue was not likely to use nuclear weapons to terrorise the rest of the world.

He said at an event at the Davos Economic Forum: "Putin wants to present it as a nuclear stand-off between Nato and Russia.
"Nonsense. He's not going to use nuclear weapons, OK.
"He's like the fat boy in Dickens, he wants to make our flesh creep. He wants us to think about it.
"He's never going to do it."

He was citing the servant in the Charles Dickens' novel, the Pickwick Papers, who tells an old lady: "i want to make your flesh creep."
He said pulling the nuclear trigger would set China and India against him and would "terrify the Russians".
And he demanded of UK ministers: "Give them the tanks… tell Putin to get the puck out of Ukraine."
The UK last week announced plans to supply the war-torn nation with British army Challenger 2 battle tanks in preparation for a super spring offensive to push the Russians back.
