The eldest daughter of the murdered Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov has left the country after receiving threats. Zhanna Nemtsova warned that all critics of President Putin’s government were in danger.

The former journalist has accused the Russian leader of being “politically responsible” for the killing of her father, a former deputy prime minister, who was shot within sight of the Kremlin in February. She has also criticised the official investigation into the murder.

Speaking to The Times yesterday, Ms Nemtsova did not disclose where she now lived and said she did not know if she would ever return to Russia.
