How greening our cities can reduce heat stress

Heat is a dangerous and currently the most deadly extreme weather phenomenon according to experts. It can lead to heat stress which limits bodily functioning including your body being unable to regulate its own temperature.

As the planet warms, 175 million new people are vulnerable to rising temperatures and the impacts of heat stress and cities are heating up twice as fast as the rest of the planet.

Nature can be critical in regulating heat and in providing a cooling effect, and cities around the world are experimenting by using and expanding green spaces in urban areas.
