Rangers have signed Czech Republic winger Vaclav Cerny on a season-long loan from Wolfsburg.

The 26-year-old, who has 17 caps, played once for his country at Euro 2024.

He made only 14 starts in his first season for the Bundesliga club after last summer's transfer from Twente as they finished 12th in Germany's top flight.

But Rangers manager Philippe Clement rates his eighth summer signing as "an exciting player with valuable experience in European football".

"He has already shown his attacking qualities during his time in the Eredivisie and at Wolfsburg and he will further strengthen our attacking options in the squad," Clement told his club website.

"I feel as a club and staff we can continue to help him as a player to reach new levels."

Cerny moved from hometown club Pribram to join Ajax in 2014 before spells with Dutch rivals Utrecht and Twente.

The winger, who made 25 Wolfsburg appearances overall before his move to Ibrox, said: "From the first talks with the manager, it gave me a very good feeling and from there on I would say it went pretty fast."
