My friend had a surprise baby, people are stunned by how similar his sibling’s name is – they only wanted one & it shows

AFTER having their second kid, a mom and dad chose a first and middle name already very familiar to their family.

They only wanted one baby to begin with, and Reddit users say it shows.

Posting anonymously to Reddit, a woman said she was surprised by the name her friend’s sister-in-law gave to her second baby.

“Their first is a girl, [named] Christine Michaela,” she began in the thread.

“The second was born a couple of days ago, a boy, who they named… Christian Michael.”

The similarity between the daughter’s and son’s names was a little too close for comfort for the woman, who shared some more insight into why the couple went that route.

“Apparently Christian and Michael are both honor names.

“And they originally only wanted one child, but when they found out it was a girl, they used their names anyway.”

Looks like they didn’t give up on using the exact moniker, however.

“Well, seven years later a surprise boy came along… and they used the names anyway.”

Viewers said they’ve heard of similar situations in families.

“I know a Brooke Michelle and her little brother is Brooks Michael,” one wrote.

“Worse - I know an Olivier and Olivia,” chimed in another.

“I went to school with a boy named Eric. Turns out he had a younger sister named Erica,” a third revealed.

And a fourth offered a potential solution to the original couple: “They could have at least reversed the order: Christine Michaela and Michael Christian.”
