Ben Shephard had a cameo in an episode called The One Where Rachel Is Late where he was shown on the red carpet brandishing a GMTV microphone.

In a scene where the late Matthew Perry's character, Chandler Bing, and Matt LeBlanc's character, Joey Tribbiani, attended a movie premiere, Ben was one of the reporters.

One fan took to X/Twitter with a snapshot of the scene and captioned the post: "@benshephard seen you again in friends tonight."

Ben confirmed the statement and commented: "Great spot!! Again!!"

Another fan wrote on X: "Ben Shephard with a GMTV branded mic in Friends has got to be the weirdest and beautifully British-90s cameo ever."

A third penned: "Ben Shephard was an extra in Friends?! Which episode was this - this is an amazing fact!"

A fourth wrote: "Just seen Friends 'The One With Ben Shephard'."

The star has been working in the TV industry since the late 1990s. He's hosted Xtra Factor, Tipping Point, Good Morning Britain, Ninja Warrior UK and Sky Sport's Goals on Sunday.

ITV bosses have recently chosen Ben to replace Phillip Schofield on This Morning.

A source said: “This is one of the most coveted gigs in UK television. ITV execs are determined to get it right.

“Ben is a consummate professional and hugely popular with the housewife demographic."

Pay for the new duo is understood to be around £550,000 — £150,000 less than Holly and Phil.
