Saturday Night Live 49: Is SNL on this week and who is hosting?

The late-night sketch comedy and variety show is still making headlines after almost 50 years on air

SATURDAY Night Live is on its 49th season as the long-running sketch comedy series continues to be renewed.

Although the show was temporarily halted because of the Writer's Strike, production has since resumed.

Who is hosting SNL this week & who's the musical guest?

Saturday Night Live's next episode is scheduled to be hosted by Ramy Youssef with Travis Scott as the musical guest.

Youssef is an Emmy-nominated actor and director who is well known for starring in Poor Things in 2023.

Youssef directed a Season 2 episode of The Bear and also created and starred in three seasons of Ramy on Hulu.

As a result of his performance, Ramy earned a Golden Globe nomination and won a Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy.

This is Ramy's first time hosting. The live broadcast is slated to air on March 30, 2024, at 11:30 pm ET.

Pete Davidson, Bad Bunny, Timothée Chalamet, Jason Momoa, Adam Driver, and Emma Stone have already hosted the show's 49th season.

How can I watch SNL?

Fans will have to stay tuned to see which other stars and musicians are taking over SNL for the nights to come.

The show airs weekly, every Saturday night. The show starts at 11:30 pm ET and usually runs for an hour and a half until 1:00 am ET.

Viewers can also stream episodes of SNL on Hulu.

Who was the first SNL host?

SNL, which premiered on October 11, 1975, under the original title NBC's Saturday Night, was hosted by George Carlin.

Three episodes later, Candice Bergen became the first woman to host the show.

George was a comedian, social critic, actor, and author who was regarded as one of the most influential stand-up comedians of all time.

He was affectionately dubbed as The Dean of Counterculture Comedians.

Candace is an actress who is known for her role as Shirley Schmidt on ABC's Boston Legal. She is also known for starring in the CBS sitcom Murphy Brown.
