Harry Randall’s rapid running style makes him the ideal scrum half replacement for Danny Care in the England squad, according to his Bristol Bears team-mate Callum Sheedy.

With Care, 37, having retired from Test duty after the Six Nations, the England head coach Steve Borthwick must find a new No 9 for the summer tour to Japan and New Zealand.

Randall’s international career has stalled after making his debut against the United States in 2021. The 26-year-old Bristol scrum half has won six caps to date, the most recent of which was during the 2022 Six Nations. He was part of Borthwick’s Six Nations squad this year but did not play.
