  • Tourettes Action wants to understand the demographic makeup of the Tourrettes Syndrome community who engage with us, allowing us to utilise this insight to develop our services accordingly. How we gather Information

  • If you are a service user, the information you share is stored and used to provide you with the correct level of service.
  • If you request to participate in any of our training sessions or national events the information you share is used facilitate attendance and, inform you of future events.
  • If you make a donation via our website your information will be used to process and administer your donation.
  • If you apply for an advertised vacancy, we will process the personal information you provide to us as part of your application and any interview selection process.
  • If you offer to volunteer, we will process the information captured in the Volunteer Application to determine which area of our service your skills will be most suited.
  • If you register for an account on our website or subscribe to our newsletter or marketing communications, we will process your personal information to provide you with these services.
  • If you contact us, we will use your personal information to respond to your query and/or comments.

Retaining and deleting personal data

  • Personal data will be retained for a minimum period of 5 years following 01.01.2018, and for a maximum period of 25 years following 01.01.2018.
  • Notwithstanding the other provisions of this section, we may retain your personal data where such retention is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject, or in order to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of another natural person.

  • We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Helpdesk

  • All contact with the Tourettes Action Helpdesk is treated as confidential, unless we feel that there is a risk to the caller or another individual, when we may break confidentiality.
  • Emails and Live Chats to the Helpdesk are logged for reporting purposes which help us provide a better service. By providing us with your contact details you consent that we can store them on our secure database. The storage of this data conforms with the details in our Privacy Policy (above).
  • We use Live Chat softwareon our website (a messaging platform that enable live communication), this is provided by Click4Assistance, a third party UK based Software Company. Information regarding how the data is processed and stored can be viewed here

Newsletter

  • By signing up to the Tourettes Action newsletter you give us permission to email you with information and news relevant to Tourettes Action and Tourettes Syndrome.
  • We will store your data securely within a third party system (mailchimp.com) and neither us or they will share it with any other parties without your permission.
  • If at any point you wish to be removed from our newsletter mailing list please contact us at [email protected] or click ‘unsubscribe’ on the bottom of the newsletter.

Social media

  • The Tourettes Action website contains links to pages maintained by us on third party social media websites.
  • The terms specified on those websites will apply to your use of those websites in addition to these Terms and Conditions of Website Use.

Online shop

  • Purchases from our online shop are logged on our secure database. We store your contact details and information about your purchase for our financial records. We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any third parties.
  • We aim to dispatch all orders from our shop within 7 working days of receiving your order. Orders are sent by Royal Mail, second class post, unless otherwise indicated.
  • Postage includes delivery in the UK. If you are outside the UK please contact usto discuss additional postage fees that may be applicable.
  • To request a refund or cancel an order, please email [email protected]. We aim to respond and action all such calls and emails within 7 working days.
