UPDATE: (Oct. 10, 2020) -- New photos show Tim Butler being reunited with his son, Terran.

ORIGINAL STORY - Oct. 1, 2020

The father of 6-year-old Terran Butler has plans to bring his son home.

Terran was the subject of an Amber Alert that started when police say he was taken by his non-custodial mother last Saturday.

Terran’s mother, 43-year-old Emily Jolley, and her friend 56-year-old Bonnie Jackson was located at a residence in North Bend, Oregon on Thursday, along with Terran, who was found unharmed and in good health.

“The detective just calmly called and said, 'We have Terran and he’s safe and everything is good,' and that’s all I needed to hear,” Tim Butler said.

Butler said he was always optimistic Terran would be found safe, but that call turned feelings of uncertainty quickly to joy.

“We’re so happy that he was found safe and that no one came to harm in doing so,” Butler said.

He was shown proof Thursday night that Terran is safe with authorities and is making plans to fly to Oregon on Friday to pick him up and bring him back to Utah.

We can’t imagine what he’s going through in this, so we can’t wait to just hold him again and make sure that he knows everything is going to be okay."

Family and friends already have celebratory balloons ready for Terran's homecoming.

“I love him with all my heart, and it just puts everything into perspective that family is so important,” Butler said.

He wonders how something like this could happen, but doesn’t have animosity toward anyone involved in taking his son.

“We’re not angry, we’re just relieved that Terran is safe, in that sense.”

Tim says the amazing police work of the Unified Police Department and others who worked with them to find Terran is the reason his son is coming home safely.

Jolley and Jackson are held in Coos County jail on federal kidnapping charges, as well as Utah state charges of custodial interference.
