Working Saturday. As the government drives multiple levers to achieve the Ekonomi Madani targets, a key initiative being led by the Ministry of Finance Malaysia is the Government-linked Enterprises Activation and Reform Programme or GEAR-uP. Heads of our six Government-linked Investment Companies (GLICs) and our national petroleum corporation PETRONAS were in the room today. That’s representing 18% of the country’s GDP contribution, and over 200 thousand employees. Put simply, this is a group that can collectively harness its resources and experiences, and deploy its people to make meaningful contributions to the economic growth of the nation. Our Roundtable discussions today centered on working together to catalyse investments to Raise the Ceiling and partnering with the government to Raise the Floor.
