    ✨ Good news for Made in England: The Films of Powell and Pressburger, as the film has been selected to screen at Tribeca Film Festival in June, and is set to be released in cinemas across the UK and Ireland from Friday 10 May. 🩰 Narrated by Martin Scorsese, the @screenscots-supported film is a celebration of the talents of Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger, who created some of great classics of the British golden age including The Red Shoes, Black Narcissus, A Matter of Life and Death and The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp: https://lnkd.in/etCwP-7Q 🎯 The fantastic new poster has been launched by Altitude Films, with key art created by The Creative Partnership.

    The Summer School for Teachers is a GTC-accredited programme for teachers working in Scotland to train to participate in testing Screen Scotland's draft Film and Screen Curriculum: https://lnkd.in/edzTYHdE Running for two weeks from 29 July to 9 August, the Summer School has 40 available places, split between primary and secondary provision. Recognising that this will take place during school holidays, participants will be paid an honorarium for their time. 💡 There will be Teams information sessions at 4pm on 23 April 2024 and again on 20 May 2024 about the programme. SQIFF's Trustees will provide a vital role in ensuring SQIFF achieves its core purpose and works in line with its vision, mission and values.     Northern Lens, the inaugural Youth Film Festival, is open for submissions from filmmakers under 25 years old. Films made within the past two years which are up to 10 minutes in length can be submitted by 30 April 2024. Fiction, documentary, and experimental/moving image submissions are welcome. With screenings aimed at audiences aged 12 - 25, submitted films should be suitable for all prospective members of the audience. Taking place in Aberdeen on 16 June 2024, the festival is hosted by Station House Media Unit in partnership with Aberdeen Performing Arts, and will shine a spotlight on young filmmakers from Scotland, with a special emphasis on the North East. https://lnkd.in/e8VfpXAr

    We're delighted to be providing three bursary places for this year's Indielab TV Accelerator Programme: https://lnkd.in/eBuXGE8e Now in its 9th year, the programme kicked off to a roaring start with a brand new 2024 cohort of thirteen independent production companies. The 2024 programme will run until the end of June and will be delivered through a mix of virtual and in-person bespoke masterclasses and seminars from leading industry experts, before culminating in the Indie Showcase, where programme participants pitch their content and their companies to a market hall of distributors.

    TRC have announced the return of their creative development programme SuperSizing Development Teams, with four new Scotland based indies taking part. The intensive short course was piloted last year as an expansion to TRC’s signature training programme for Development Executives SuperSizer, which is currently in its seventh edition. Screen Scotland continues to be a core funder of TRC, as part of our long-term commitment to growing Scotland’s screen workforce. https://lnkd.in/e_c6RPj7
